ROACHDALE — Mrs. Edith B. Riggle, former resident of the Roachdale community, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jean Thoman. Mrs. Riggle, 71, had been in failing health for the last two months. She and her daughter resided at 5313 Mark Lane. Born on Oct. 3, 1897, in Ladoga, she was the daughter of Elmer and Harriet Miller Harris. Mrs. Riggle was a member of the North Salem Baptist Church. Surviving besides the daughter are two sons, Forest Miller of Indianapolis and Philip Smilek of Portsmouth, Va.; two stepsons, Richard Riggle of Roachdale and George Riggle of Richmond, Ind., a stepdaughter, Ruby Brunst of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Webb of Brownsburg and Mrs. Mary Cheshier of Greybull, Wyo., 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Harry W. Moore Arlington Chapel at Indianapolis. Graveside rites will be held at the Roachdale Cemetery at 4 p.m. Sunday. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.--waw
