Charles Ridge departed this life at his home in Yountsville, August 24, 1888. He was born in Buck County, Penn., March 15, 1813 and came to this county in 1843. He was married to Mrs. Mary Hornbaker, March 6, 1859. His parents and himself were Quakers but after coming to Yountsville he united with the M.E. church and was ever a faithful and consistent member until his death. His honesty, industry and kindly deeds made friends of all who knew him. His last sickness was long and his suffering was hard to bear. He often expressed his desire to be at rest with his savior.
