Richmond - Lizzie Colson

The result of a long illness and great suffering was the death of Mrs. WL RICHMOND on Wednesday morning at 2 o'clock at the residence of Mr. MB Richmond in this city. The maiden name of Mrs. Richmond was Lizzie Colson and she was an acterss of unusual talent making her first appearance before the curtain in Sea of Ice in 1867 and has ever since been on stage. She was a singer of unusual powers. She was born on Aug 25, 1861. On Feb 14, 1885 she was married by Rev. Pryse of the 1st Presbyterian Church to WL Richmond who survives her. Her disease was consumption of the bowels [cancer]. Her mother was with her in the last few weeks of her illness. The funeral will occur from the residence of MB Richmond at 2 p.m. today and the services will be conducted by Rev. Hayes of the 1st Presbyterian Church. - kbz
