MELLOTT -- Mrs. Tessie Rice, 88, of Mellott, died this morning in Tall Trees Nursing Home at Covington. She was a member of Prairie Creek Baptist Church, where her brother is minister, and a member of the Mellott Fish and Game Club. She was born April 21, 1885 at Wallace a daughter of Wallace and Clara Hybarger. She married William Rice in August, 1937. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were a brother and two sisters. Surviving are a son, Floyd V. Mortimore of Mellott; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Ruby) Anno of Attica and Mrs. William (Ruth) Buttons of Terre Haute; two brothers, Freeman Hybarger of Indianapolis and the Rev. Harry Hybarger of Rockville; two sisters, Mrs Lizzie Connley of South Bend and Mrs. Pearl Sies of Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-granddaughters. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Crumley-Williams funeral home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday. --typed by Walt W
