Sarah Anne Rice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Rice was born Oct 1, 1847 near Flemingburg, Ky. On Jan 6, 1887, she was married to Mr. Andrew Thompson who survives with one foster-daughter, Mrs. Brooks of Waveland and 3 sisters, Mrs. William Rice of Metcalf; Mrs. Jennie Loman of Longview, Ill and Miss Lou Rice of Tuscola, Ill. Mrs. Andrew Thompson united with the Christian Church at Flemingburg, Ky when a young girl. She had been afflicted for a number of years. She had made her home in and around Metcalf, Ill. Since her failing health she and Mr. Thompson have made their home with Mrs. George Brooks of Waveland, Ind, at whose home she passed away on May 16, 1932 at the age of 84 years 7 moths and 14 days. In all her years of affliction she suffered intensely, at times confined to her chair or bed, yet she bore it all with patience and Christian fortitude. For the last four years she has been confined to her bed. The husband and Mrs. George Brooks gave her every care and attention and done all they could to relieve her suffering. But the great Father of Love and Mercy called her to that home where there is no pain or suffering. - kbz
