Hillsboro, April 14 - Mrs. Rachel Rice, a former resident of this place died Monday about noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alva Howard of north of here age 76 years. Death was due to paralysis, the deceased having suffered two strokes during the past 4 months. She was the widow of the late Wallace Rice, who preceded her in death several years. Since the death of her husband, she has been making her home with her children, Mrs. Susie Howard and Will Rice, both of whom reside on farms north of here. The funeral services will be held from the Baptist Church in Newtown Wednesday morning at 11. Rev. HA Davis of this place will have charge of the services. Interment will be in the old Baptist Cemetery west of Newtown. -- typed by kbz
