-- Nelson RICE, a former resident of the New Market community, died at his home in Crawfordsville on Thursday, following a cerebral hemorrhage on Monday. He was the son of William and Jane Davis Rice, and was born Nov 9, 1861. He married Lucinda F. Beasley (Easley), Dec 25, 1884. She survives with two sons: Joseph Rice of Waynetown and Elmer J. Rice of New Market; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was a member of the New Market Baptist Church, where funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. Esmond Elliot assisted by Rev. HE moore. Burial at Indian Creek. kbz
