Mrs. Nellie Lou Douglas Rice, 62, wife of Clay M. Rice, of Crawfordsivlle, died at Culver hospital at 2:10 o'clock Wednesday morning following an illness of three days. Mrs. Rice suffered a coronary thrombosis Sunday morning and became a patient at the hospital Monday. Born Nov. 30, 1886 in Montgomery county, in the New Market neighborhood, Mrs. Rice was the daughter of Joseph and Sallie McMullen Douglas. Mr. and Mrs. Rice were married Nov. 24, 1909. The husband, three daughters and six grandchildren survive. Daughters are Mrs. Fern Boots, of near Crawfordsville, Mrs. Mildred Stickler, of near New Market and Mrs. Reba Wyant, of Phoenix. Ariz. Mrs. Rice is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Clara Brann, of New Market, and a brother, Walter Douglas , of Crawfordsville. A member of the First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Rice had long been very active in church work. Mr.Rice was engaged in carpentry work here for many years. Rev. George T. King, pastor of the church, will officiate at the funeral services to be conducted at the church at 10:00 o'clock Friday morning. Burial will be made at Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence, 605 East Main St. The body will lie in state one hour before the service. kbz
