NEW RICHMOND—Morris Rice, 58, died suddenly at 1 p.m. Wednesday at his home northwest of New Richmond in Tippecanoe County of a heart attack. Born Oct. 20, 1898 at Linden, Mr. Rice was the son of Perry and Anna Peek Rice. He was married Jan. 5, 1945 to Bernice King Shrock at South Bend and was a member of the Linden Methodist Church. He had farmed all his life. Surviving are the wife, one son, Merrell Shrock, New Richmond; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Reppert, South Bend; two grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Phillips, Euphrate, Wash., and Mrs. Everett Jones, West Point; four brothers, Wallace and Charles, Lafayette, Ted of Buck Creek and Frank of New Richmond; one niece and four nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery, north of Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.
