Mrs. Mary Frances Rice, 81 years of age, died at her home, 715 south Green street, at 5 o'clock Wednesday morning. Death resulted from complications extending over a period of six months. Mrs. Rice was born near Waveland in Montgomery county, December 25, 1844, the daughter of Thomas and Martha Glenn and she resided in this county all of her life during which period she made a large circle of friends and was highly esteemed in church and benevolent circles. From early childhood she was affiliated with the Baptist church. She was married to Jonathan Rice on March 28, 1867, the latter passing away December 1, 1904. She is survived by two sons, Thomas W. Rice, sheriff-elect, and Albert Rice; one grandson, Thomas Rice; a brother, William Glenn of Waveland, and a sister, Mrs. Eva Easley of Knoxville, Tenn. There will be a short service at the home at 9:30 o'clock Friday morning at which Rev. D. Heitmeyer wil offiatiate follwed by the funeral service at the Freedom church at 11 o'clock at which Rev. J.M. Cauldwell will officate. - thanks muches to Sue P :)
