The funeral services of James A. Rice were conducted by Rev. Gibson at the Presbyterian Church last Sunday afternoon. Though in poor health for the past year, the last few weeks Mr. Rice appeared to be improved so much that his friends entertained hopes of his recovery. Death came very suddenly last Thursday afternoon and apparently without any pain, he went to rest. He was an honored citizen, beloved parent, ruling elder for fifty years in the Presbyterian Church and a man whose life speaks of seventy six years. Yes, even more than man’s allotted time, need he further commendation? -s
