Rice - Ida Hawkins

Ida B. Rice, 76, of Bakersfield, Calif., formerly of Crawfordsville, died Sunday at Bakersfield. She had lived at Crawfordsville many years and had been employed as a domestic cook. She was a member of the second Baptist Church of Crawfordsville. Born in October, 1896, she was a daughter of Toliver and Melinda Hawkins. Survivors include a son, Welton of Bakersfield; three nephews, Faye and William Elmore of Crawfordsville and Toliver Kennedy of Chicago; a niece, Mrs. Oscar Lee Goode of Crawfordsville; and several cousins in this area. Services will be conducted Friday at Bakersfield with burial there. – jlr
