Word has been received here of the tragic death of Mrs. Harry Rice, which took place in Ellensburg, Wash on Oct 31. Mr. Rice, who is a brother of Mrs. Harry Crutchfield, was engaged on some work about 50 mi. from his home. His wife was starting the morning fire in the cook stove and intended to use cedar oil but used gasoline instead. Her clothing was ignited and she was so badly burned that she died at six the same evening. The house burned; destroying the greater part of the contents. Mrs. Samuel Rice, the mother of Mr. Rice was living with them. She escaped injury as did the year old child of Mr. & Mrs. Rice. kbz
