Francis M. Rice, formerly of the Covington-Republican, died at his home in Crawfordsville last Tuesday. He was born in Covington in 1864, graduated from Asbury (now DePauw) University in 1886, and commenced the practice of law in Covington. He edited the Covington-Republican for several years, and later moved to Crawfordsville. During McKinley’s administration, he was appointed inspector of rural mail routes for Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky. -- Attica Democrat
