Hillsboro, Sept 26 -- The funeral services of Mrs. Reed RICE, who died at her home northeast of Waynetown Tuesday night was held from the Christian Church in Hillsboro Thursday afternoon at 2:30. A large number of sorrowing relatives and friends attended to pay their last respect to the young woman who had spent most of her life in this vicinity. Rev. JC Burkhardt, Crawfordsville conducted the services; Misses Mabel and Nina Snyder accompanied by Mrs. Olive White at piano, sang Jesus Savior and Does Jesus Care? And Miss Nina Snyder sang In the Beautiful Garden of Prayer, Pallbearers were Earl Bowers; Robert DeAth; Billy and Jackie Ervin and Ferman and James Rice. Flower bearers were: Mrs. Jennie Miller; Misses Mildred Nine; Mary Evelyn Rice; Pearl Rice and Waneta and Oveta Rice. Burial at Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown. kbz

Hillsboro, Aug (sic) 23 -- Mrs. Estel Miller Rice, 20, wife of Reed Rice died at her home 4 miles northeast of Waynetown Tuesday night at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Reed had returned home 3 weeks ago from the Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis where she had been under going treatment and seemed to be much better for a time. Several days ago she again was taken ill and at 9 o'clock Tuesday night her condition became serious. Her death occurred an hour later. The young woman was born on a farm a half mile south of Hillsboro in 1911, a daughter of Julius and Rena Swank Miller. She was married to Reed Rice June 30, 1929. Mrs. Rice attended the Hillsboro school. She was a member of the North Christian Church in Mellott. The survivors are the husband, Reed Rice; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Miller and two sisters, Mary and Josephine Miller both at home. The funeral services will be held at Hillsboro Christian Church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of the Rev. JC Burkhart of Crawfordsville. Burial will take place in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. kbz
