Clifford Pittman, who
escaped death miraculously last year when a freight train backed into the
lumber wagon on which he was working on a Monon switch at north Washington
street was called to Indianapolis on Wednesday by a message which stated that
his stepfather had been killed in an accident. David Rice, the stepfather, was
struck by a runaway team of horses belonging to a negro teamster and died
shortly afterward in a hospital. He was riding a bicycle when the horses struck
him. A fractured skull caused his death - kbz
