RICE, William

Thanks to Andy Rice for the submission!

Sorry, I cut of the source newspaper. I pulled it from Newspapers.com which has more material than the Hoosier State Chronicles archive.  I didn't see this obit on the Ingen website.  Thanks!

Direct relatives of William's father, Thomas Roach Rice are in group 14 of the Rice Surname Y DNA project:

He would have been a close cousin - 1st/2nd? with Jonathan B Rice (b 1790 -1872) who settled in Brown Township.  The precise relationship of Jonathan's father, a man also named William Rice is currently unknown but the DNA match is there.  They immigrated from Frederick County to Virginia, then to Rice's Landing PA.  Jonathan's family on to Pioneer Kentucky/Louisville/Shelby/Mercer/Henry County  and Thomas Roach Rice to pioneer Ohio and Claremont County.
