Word reached this city today of the death of W. H. Roher (sic - tombstone says Rhorer - 22 Jan 1842 - 29 Dec 1891 Darlington IOOF), one of the leading merchants of Darlington, which occurred there rather unexpectedly last night.

Wm H. Rhorer who died at Darlington yesterday morning was one of the best citizens of that place. He has been a resident of Darlington for about twenty years and by strict attention to his own business had accumulated a comfortable competence. He was highly esteemed by the entire community and his death will make a loss that will be greatly felt. The funeral services were held today, all the ministers of the town participating in the exercises. He was buried at the Odd Fellows Cemetery under the auspices of Glenn Lodge of which he was an honored member.
