Rhodes - Samuel Clint

COVINGTON – S. Clint Rhodes, 92, died at 10:10 a.m. Friday in Covington Manor Nursing Home where he had been a patient a week. Mr. Rhodes had been in ill health for two years. A member of Wabash Chapel Church, Mr. Rhodes was a life resident of Wabash Township and had served as township trustee for two terms, 1931-39. He was a charter member of the Fountain County Farm Bureau and had been employed all of his adult life until his retirement as a farmer. Both in Fountain County, he was a son of Samuel E. and Julia Hathaway Rhodes. He was married to Blanche Coleman March 27, 1907. She preceded him in death Dec. 23, 1971. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Lucille) Crowder of Perrysville and Mrs. Elmo (Mary K.) Young of Covington; a sister, Mrs. Guy (Daisy) Faust of Covington; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, two sisters and a brother. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Bodine &Shellby Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today. – jlr
