Rhode - Lena Senton

LADOGA – Mrs. Lena Senton Rhode, 78, of Pine Village, mother of Mrs. Olive Oliver of this community, died Monday morning in Community Hospital at Williamsport. She had suffered a hip fracture three weeks ago. A native of Pine Village, she was the daughter of Charles and Olive Senton and married Claire Rhode Aug. 17, 1905. He preceded her in death several years ago. She was a member of the Pine Village Methodist Church, in which she served for years as a pianist and Sunday School teacher. Survivors include besides Mrs. Oliver, two other daughters, Mrs. Ardis Kerner of Pine Village and Mrs. Lena Claire Kell of Williamsport; two sons, Gail Rhode of Pine Village and Jasper Rhode of Lafayette, and nine grandchildren. Two sons preceded Mrs. Rhode in death. Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Pine Village Methodist Church with interment in the Pine Village Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the Shipps Funeral Home in Pine Village after 3 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
