Linden – Mrs. Myrtle Rhea, 84, died at 8:20 p.m. Saturday in the Roy Wilson residence in Crawfordsville after an illness of four years. The former Myrtle Michaels worked as a telephone operator in Linden until 1938, then worked in the Linden PO until her retirement in 1956. A resident of Linden since 1911, she attended Tippecanoe County schools. Her first marriage was to Ivan R. Bowerman who died in 1927; she then married Dr. James O. Rhea who died in 1938. Mrs. Rhea was a member of the Linden Kirkpatrick United Methodist Church and Oriental Chapter 244, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving is a stepson, James F. “Jim” of Crawfordsville.- kbz

Mrs. Myrtle Rhea – Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Helms Funeral Home, Linden; services there at 2 pm. Tuesday the Rev. Dale M. Wilson officiating. Interment in Linden Cemetery. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. - kb
