A dispatch from Linden to the Crawfordsville Review gives the following concerning the death of Mrs. Iva W. Rhea, prominent Linden physician and one of the most widely respected women of the town died at 10:30 o’clock Tuesday morning at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis a victim of complications. Mrs. Rhea was taken to the hospital two weeks ago for an operation and her condition had been serious since that time.  Because of the general love and respect for Mrs. Rhea in Linden the entire town was stunned by news of her death. Since coming to Linden she had always been a leader in all civic and social affairs and was an untiring worker in behalf of her community or friends. She had been a member of the Carnegie Library Board here since its founding seven years ago; she was a prominent member of the Linden Women’s Club and was its acting president.  Mrs. Rhea also belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Missionary Society, Ladies’ Aid Society and Royal Neighbors.  She was born in Morgan County on Sept 29, 1882, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. BC Watson. On December 16, 1909 she was married to Dr. James O. Rhea. Her husband, Dr. Rhea, a son, James Frederick, age 16, her father, BC Watson of Martinsville, three sisters, Mrs. CH Shipley and Mrs. OE Edwards of Martinsville and Mrs. John Anderson of Stilesvile and two brothers, Robert Watson of Bloomington and James Watson of Martinsville, survives. - kbz
