Reynolds - Wilber

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday, 14 April 1899

After a most painful illness of seventeen days, Wilber Reynolds, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Reynolds, died Sunday at 11:25 p.m. he bore his intense suffering with a fortitude that was more than child like and his heroic struggle for life attracted the attention and sympathy of all. Wilber would have been eleven years old had he lived until the 28th of this month.

He was a bright and winsome child and thoughtful and considerate beyond his years. Being an only child, his parents gladly gratified every desire and, indeed, the entire relationship ministered to his happiness, as he was the only grandson on the maternal side. He was strong and vigorous and was never so happy as when engaged in some form of manual or mental labor. He was a universal favorite. To know him was to love him and his death falls upon his parents with telling force.

The funeral occurred from the family residence on East Main Street Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The funeral services were confined to the relatives and the immediate friends and neighbors. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery. - thanks so much to "S" for all her great work on the obituary section of this site
