Clarence Reynolds, 23 year old son of Mr and Mrs. James Reynolds, living northwest of Greencastle, died in the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis Sunday night at ten o'clock. His death was due to heat prostration, physicians there stated.
He was taken to Indianapolis in an ambulance, but died within a few minutes after being received at the hospital. He was stricken during the afternoon, and at first it was believed his illness was due to an acute attack of appendicitis, but surgeons at the hospital who were expecting to operate, stated his death was due to the heat.
Besides the parents he is survived by nine brothers and five sisters.
The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the McCurry Funeral Home. Rev. Talbott will have charge of the services and burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.

Obituary for Clarence E. Reynolds who died June 28, 1931 Clarence Edward Reynolds, son of James W. and Myrtle (Barnett) Reynolds, was born near Greencastle, Ind., September 28, 1908, departed this life June 28, 1931, age 22 years and nine months. He united with the Nazerine church in Greencastle, about two years ago, and from that day was an earnest member, regular in attendance and always happy in Sunday schol work. There he had been on the day he took fatally sick and was rushed to the Methodist hospital at Indianapolis, but of no avail as he passed away on arrival at the hospital. Though never strong, having been afflicted, he made a brave effort to overcome his afflictions and live as others live, but our Heavenly Father who watches over the least of us, had otherwise decreed This life work, though to our finite minds short, was finished. Clarence was called to his new home where the weaknesses and infirmities of this earthly tabernacle of clay are unknown, and the inequalities of this life righted. He seemed to have a premonition that this illness would end fatally. He is survived by his parents, grandparents, nine brothers and five sisters. The brothers and sisters are: George Newton, James Clifford, Gracie May, Roy Russell, Benjamin, Louis, Lucile, Agnes Marie, Richard, Mary Katheryn, Annie Frances, Gerald Leon, Everett Forrest, and Melvin Eugene. His grandfather and grandmother Reynolds live in Kentucky while his grandfather and grandmother Barnett live in Greencastle. The funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Talbert were held from the McCurry Funeral Home at 10:30 A. M. , July 1, 1931. Burial in Forest Hill cemetery.

Funeral services for Clarence Reynolds, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Reynolds of northwest of Greencastle, who died at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis Sunday night (June 28), will be held from the McCurry Funeral Home Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Talbert. Interment will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Pall bearers will be four brothers, George, James, Louis, and Benjamin Reynolds, and two uncles, Hugh and Cecil Barnett.
