Waveland, July 17 – Word has been received here of the death of Anne Elizabeth Reynolds, 93, better known as “Aunt Betty" at the Masonic Home in Franklin. Infirmities of old age caused her death. The deceased was born at Waveland, December 24, 1836, the daughter of John and Mariah Cook. She was married in 1852 to Joshua Reynolds, who preceded her in death. She lived at the Deer mill for forty years where her husband was a miller. She was a member of the Freedom Baptist church. Aunt Betty, as she was known to many people in this vicinity, was the first member from Waveland to be admitted to the Masonic Home at Franklin. She was an invalid most pf her life. One son Hugh E. Reynolds, of Hammond, Louisiana, and three grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held at the Freedom church at two o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. H.E. Elmore in charge. Burial will be in the Freedom cemetery. The body has been taken up to the Noble Reeves funeral home in New Market where friends may pay their respects until shortly before the service. - kbz

Mrs. Betty Reynolds, widow of Joshua Reynolds, died at the Masonic Home at Franklin on Fridy at the age of 93. She was born near Waveland and was the daughter of John and Mariah Cook. Funeral services were held at Freedom on Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. H.H. Elmore. She was a member of the Freedom Church. Her husband, who has been dead for many years, was the miller at Deer's Mill until it ceased operation. One son, Hugh, lives in Hammond, La, where he is a bookkeeper for a lumber company. Mrs. Reynolds was the first inmate of the Masonic Home. -- typed by kbz
