Mrs. Nellie A. Remley, 82, 616 S. Water St., died at her home at 8:30 p.m. Saturday after an illness of two days. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. John E. Brown of north of Hagerstown, where she was born April 18, 1876. The family moved to a farm north of Alamo when she was nine years old. She attended a neighborhood school, became an accomplished pianist, having a number of piano pupils around Alamo and Waynetown. She was married on Nov. 28, 1894 to Fred S. Remley at the farm home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. George W. Titus, 910 E. Elm St., attended the wedding and Mrs. Titus played the Wedding March. They lived on a farm in the Wesley neighborhood for approximately 50 years. She was active there in the Wesley Methodist Church- serving as organist for many years and occupying most of the offices in the Women’s Society of the Church. She also belonged to the Order of Eastern Star at Waynetown for many years and the Women’s Relief Corps in Crawfordsville. Their children are Walter B. Remley of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Minnie Elizabeth Schneider of Deerfield, Ill., Mrs. Mary Esther Weingartner, who with her son Larry, made her home with her and Frances Evelyn, who died in infancy. She and Mr. Remley moved from the farm into Crawfordsville in 1944 and on Nov. 28, 1949 celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with family and friends at a dinner at the American Legion Home in Crawfordsville. Mr. and Mrs. Titus, guests at the wedding, also were guests at this anniversary dinner. She was preceded in death by her only sister, Mrs. Elbert Ammerman of McFadden, Tex., and by Mr. Remley, who died in April 1953. Surviving besides the three children are four grandchildren, Larry Weingartner of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Joseph W. Bowman of Monticello and David A. Remley and Robert C. Remley of Crawfordsville, and one great-grandson, Daniel W. Bowman of Monticello. Rev. Guy E. Tremaine will officiate at the memorial service, which will be held at the Bright Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Monday. Interment will be in the Wesley Cemetery. - kbz
