Margaret E. Remley, wife of the late John Remley, died at New Market at four o'clock this morning, her death being due to pulmonary tuberculosis. Mrs. Remley’s death occurred after an illness of five weeks. The deceased was born in this county September 16, 1841, and has resided in this county most of. her life. She was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Gilliland. Mrs. Remley was a member of the Christian church of this city. Mrs. Remley leaves five sisters, Mrs. Anna L. Busenbark, Miss Lydia Gilliland, Mrs. Mattie Wray, all of New Market; Mrs. Molly Smith, Whitesville and Mrs. Nancy Vancleave of North Union; and two brothers, William C. and James B. Gilliland, both of whom reside near this city. Mr. Remley's only child, Mrs. A. Brown, of Alamo, is deceased. John Remley, the husband of the deceased, is the gentleman who fell from a passenger train in Georgia while en route to Florida to spend the winter. The body of Mr. Remley was later found in a field some distance from the track. The circumstances surrounding his death have always been a mystery, but it is generally believed that he attempted to go out of the coach, and thus fell off. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Remley resided in Englewood prior to the death of Mr. Rem1ey. The funeral will be conducted from 'the Christian church in this city on Monday morning at eleven o'clock. Rev. Wilfley and Rev. Plunkett, both of this city, will officiate. The latter minister was a very close friend of Mrs. Remley’s. - kbz
