Remley - Elizabeth Busenbark

Mrs. David Remley, wife of a well known farmer residing on the Yountsville road west of this city, died Thursday, June 26, at Culver Union hospital, death resulting from an attacKnights of Pythiaseritonitis. Mrs. Remley had been in the hospital three weeks, following an operation. Mrs. Remley's ailment was a deep seated intestinal trouble from which she suffered for several years. The best medical skill and the most careful nursing could not save her and her death came as a welcome release after weeks of intense suffering.
The deceased was the daughter of Mrs. And Mrs. John Busenbark of this city. She is survived by her mother, her husband, one son and three brothers. Funeral services will be held from the late home at two Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. S. K. Piercy, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of this city. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Remley was one of the most estimable and best beloved women of this community. She was indeed a most gracious Christian soul. She was born near Lafayette, Indiana on January 23, 1849, the fifth child of John and Mary Jane Busenbark. In infancy she came to live near Crawfordsville and has resided here ever since.
On March 10, 1870 she was married to David H. Remley and, together for almost half a century, they have enjoyed a life of rare felicity and companionship. One child was born of their union, a son, Edgar, who survives on a farm at Waynetown, Indiana.
Mrs. Remley has been since girlhood a most faithful member of the First Presbyterian church of Crawfordsville and the pastor and people of the church are grief stricken over their irreparable loss.
Mrs. Remley's father died five years ago, but her mother is still living at the age of 87. Of late years, Mrs. Busenbark has made her home with Mrs. Remley. Mrs. Remley is also survived by two brothers and four sisters: Charles Busenbark of Whitesville, Ind.; Joseph Busenbark of New market; Mrs. Emmeline Rush of Washington state; Mrs. Cariusa Boraker of Missouri; Mrs. Ella Fairchild of Kansas; and Mrs. Clara Everson of Hammond, Ind.
