Charles J. Reiman, a resident of this city for 24 years, where he engaged prominently in business until about 5 years ago died suddenly at his home on South Water Street this afternoon at one. Mr. Reiman had been in ill health for about ayear but had been able to be about and Monday evening he attended a meeting at the Jones Tabernacle with a fraternal order of which he is a member. Tuesday morning he suffered a chill and from that time until his death he has been confined to his home. The cause of his death was pneumonia and other complications which attended his illness. His condition had been dangerous for the last two or three days. The death is a shock to most of his friends, however, on account of the sudden change for the worse. Mrs. Reiman is prostated with grief. Mr. Reiman was known by practically everyone in the city having had business relations with men here for the quarter of a century he was in business in Crawfordsville. He was engaged in the restaurant trade on East Main Street until a little less than 5 years ago. He wasl also prominent in fraternal orders of the city being a member of the POS of A, Tribe of Ben Hur, Elks, Eagles and Moose. The deceased was born in Shelbyville, Ind, in 1857. Had he lived 3 weeks longer he would have been 58 years old. In 1891, Mr. and Mrs. Reiman came to this city where they had resided since. One son was born to them. He is Wallace Reiman of Shelbyville, Ind. Mrs. Reiman and the son are the only ones to survive. Mr. Reiman being the last of his family. No funeral arrangements have been made as yet. The services will probably be at the First Presbyterian Church however as Mr. Reiman was a member of that church. - kbz
