Henry C. Reeves Dies at Age 86 Henry Clay Reeves, age 86 life long resident of Montgomery County and for many years, a progressive farmer in theNew Marekt community, died at 1:30 o'clock, Friday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. Anna Belle Doyel in New Market, after an extended illness due to complication. Mr. Reeves was born in Montgomery County near New Market April 15 1858 the son of Wilford and Mary Ann Sidener Reeves. His marriage to Lena Mae Noble took place Dec 1, 1887. Mr. and Mrs. Reeves resided on their farm near New Market many years although for a period of 10 years preceding 1906, they resided at Russellville where Mr. Reeves was engaged in the undertaking business. He continued active farming from 1906 to 1919 when he became superintendent of Indiana State Highway, 34, a position which he held for 13 years. Mr. Reeves was a member of the Methodist Church at New Market and for a period of 54 years he held membership in the K. of P. lodge in New Market. Mrs. Reeves preceded her husb! and in death 8 years having died Jan 6, 1937. They would have observed their 50th wedding anniversary the following December had she lived. Mr. Reeves is survived by one son, well known funeral director at New Market and one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Reddish, also of New Market. Two granddaughters, also survive, Mrs. Imogene DeBusk of near New Market and Mrs. Joyce Eskew of Crawfordsville. The son-in-law is John Reddish and the daughter-in-law, Mrs. Pauline Reeves. There are also two great grandsons, Jackie and Tommie DeBusk. Mr. Reeves is also survived by two brothers, John L. Reeves, Danville, Ill and Robert E. Reeves of Indianapolis and three sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Scott of Detroit, Mich; Mrs. William Tietz of Chicago and Mrs. Doyel at whose home he died in New Market. Two brothers and 3 sisters preceded Mr. Reeves in death William of Crawfordsville; Andrew N of New Market; Hallie Pearl Reeves, New Market; Mrs. Mattie Gentry, Wayentown and Mrs. Margaret Grider of New Market. Funeral services will be held at the New Market Methodist Church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Claude McCallister in charge assisted by the Rev. Cornelius Airhart. Burial will be made in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Noble Reeves home to pay their respects. The body will be in state at the church one hour before the funeral.

Henry Clay REEVES, 86 father of Noble Reeves of New Market passed away to his reward last Friday. He was also the father of Mrs. John REDDISH of New Market. Mr. Reeves was a find old man and it was an inspiration to call on him for he was so cheerful though weakened by infirmities of age.
