Mrs. Kate REED, 79, resident of Raccoon and Parkersburg vicinity most of her life, and Greencastle for 11 years, died Sunday at the Putnam Co. Hospital. Mrs. Reed was born in Montgomery County Sept 19, 1883, daughter of John and Florence Oliver Wasson. Her husband, JO Reed, preceded her in death. She was a member of the Raccoon Methodist Church. Mrs. Reed took up residence in Greencastle in 1951. She lived with her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Hubert Reed. Survivors include a son, Mentor Reed; a sister, Mrs. Charles Gott; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Hubert Reed and Mrs. Mentor Reed; 3 granddaughters and five great grandchildren. Also preceding her in death was a son, Hubert. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Raccoon Methodist Church; burial in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville. - transcribed by kbz
