James Otis REED, 75, of Raccoon died suddenly Tuesday morning while mowing the yard. He was born Feb 27, 1876, in Putnam Co, the s/o James and Cynthia Myers Reed and married Kate WASSON in 1901. He was a member of the Raccoon Methodist Church and Woodmen Lodge. There survive his widow; two sons, Hubert of Greencastle and Mentor of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Clara Overstreet of Russellville; Mrs. Nora Smith of Miami, FL; and mrs. Julia Sears and Mrs. Ida Adkins, both of Greencastle, two brothers, Lawrence of Greencastle & John of Lebanon. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Raccoon Methodist Church. Burial was at Masonic Cem, Crawfordsville. kbz
