Mrs. Goldie M. Reed, 66 of Rossville, died at 12:50 a.m. yesterday at Home Hospital, Lafayette. In the hospital for two weeks, she had been in failing health for two years. She was the wife of James W. Reed, who survives. They were married Feb. 9, 1916, and had lived around the Rossville Community since 1937. Mrs. Reed was born in Montgomery County Sept. 14, 1895, the daughter of A.L. (Doc) and Seadoria Bell (Wyant) Hamilton. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and the Rossville Home Demonstration Club. Surviving with the husband are four sons, Floyd W. of Marion, Jason G. of Colorado Springs, Colo., Robert E. of Frankfort and Ronald K. at home. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Whiteman of Michigantown and Mrs. Catherine I. Young of Frankfurt, Germany: five sisters, Mrs. Mary Cohen of Lafayette, Mrs. Ethel Avery of Frankfort route `1, Mrs. Mabel Smith of Crystal Falls, Mich., Anna Harland of Frankfort and Mrs. Bertha Toney of Frankfort, and two brothers, Howard Hamilton of Lafayette and Willard Hamilton of Frankfort, along with eight grandchildren. A brother preceded her in death. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday from Moore and Brown Funeral Home, Rossville, with the Ref. H.F. Richards officiating Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery.
