A man named Nathaniel Redden was run over and killed by an engine at the trestle work northeast of the city on the L. C. & S. W. Railway last Thursday. The man, it seems was discovered by the engineer and warned in time to have easily saved himself, but became bewildered and stopped on the track, turning his face to the engine to meet certain destruction. Redden was a former resident of Covington, but had lately been confined in the jail at this place, having been sent here from Covington for safe keeping.
