Rector - Granville

ALAMO -- Granville Rector, 80, a former employe of the Monon Railroad and later the Crawfordsville Salvage Co., died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in his home two miles southwest of here. Mr. Rector was a member of Freedom Baptist Church north of Waveland. He had moved to Indiana from Kentucky in 1946 and lived near Alamo since 1962. He was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky, on April 28, 1893, a son of Mark and Catherine Oaks Rector. He was first married to Agnes Pointer, who preceded him in death in 1922. He was married to Myrtle Gadberry of Stanford, Ky., in 1932. She survives. Also surviving are a son, John William of Michigan City; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Hinds of Waynesburg, Ky., and Mrs. Annabel Church of Florida; two step-daughters, Mrs. Pearlie Malayer of Roachdale and Mrs. Lillie Adams of Rt. 3, Crawfordsville; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Sim, who died at Crawfordsville in 1955. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Norman Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday.--waw
