Henry A. Reath, 72, who was removed from Lake View Hospital, Danville, Ill Tuesday afternoon to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Berry of Hillsboro died about 9:00 o'clock Wednesday morning. Internal hemorrhage of the throat was given as the cause of death. He had been a medical patient at Lake View since July 19. Henry Reath, widely known in Montgomery and Fountain counties, had resided in the vicinity of Alamo for 33 years. He was a cement contractor and in his earlier life taught school in Fountain County. He took an active part in politics. The son of Caleb and Caroline Clevinger (sic) Reath, he was born in Fountain County March 31, 1872. On June 26, 1892, he was married to Etta Gossett, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their Alamo home two years ago. Survivors include the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Geneva Anderson, of Savoy, Ill and Mrs. Lucille Berry of Hillsboro. One son preceded him in death. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Emma Gossett of near Waynetown; Mrs. Sarah Booe of near Alamo; one brother, Elam Reath of near Alamo; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The body was removed to the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown where funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon, with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine of Waynetown officiating.
