Linden, June 20 – Sgt. Billy Raynes, 23, native of this community was killed in action May 25 on Okinawa. He was a member of the marine corps and enlisted about 4 years ago while employed in Michigan. He was graduated from Linden HS in 1940. Surviving are the parents, Arthur Raynes, now living in Texas and Mrs. James Watts of Valparaiso. - kbz
