KINGMAN — Paul. E. Ray Sr., 76, of Rt. 2, Kingman, died early Wednesday morning in Carle Memorial Hospital at Urbana, Ill. A member of Waterman Baptist Church, he served as a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years. He was an auctioneer and a farmer. Born at Newport on June 25, 1894, he was a son of David D. and Jennie Ensley Ray. He was married Aug. 21, 1915, to Esther Grimes. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. David (Gwendolyn) Greene of Union Bible Institute, Sweetwaters, South Africa; two sons, Paul Ray Jr. of Kingman and Dr. Glenn M. Ray of St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Grace Lewman of Rockville; a brother, Earl Ray of Tangier, and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Waterman Baptist Church at Lodi with Rev. Dean Hartman of Linton and Rev. John Hosler officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. Friends may call at Watson Funeral Home in Cayuga after 5 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery near Kingman. The family has requested that memorials may be made to the Missionary Fund of Waterman Baptist Church. --typed by Walt W
