Ray - Ed
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal, December 8, 1899
We deeply regret to hear of the death of Ed Ray, of Hannibal, Mo., brother to Arch Ray, the Attica shoe man and Rob E. Ray, editor of the Attica Press. He was with a party of Business men spending a day on the Mississippi river and in passing the engine shaft was accidently caught and badly hurt, from which death resulted. Ed Ray, alike to all of the family, was a noble man. He has been active in the business circles of Hannibal and the writer remembering his kind treatment upon a visit to his city several years ago, learns of his death with a feeling of regret beyond expression. Ed leaves a wife and four children, and they with his dear, good father, mother, brothers and sisters, have the sympathy of everyone in this county. – jlr
