Waynetown - Frank Ratcliff, 79, farmer in Parke and Montgomery Counties all of his life, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home 8 miles northwest of Crawfordsville. He had been ill two days. Born August 10, 1886, in Putnam County he was the son of John Wesley and Sarah Porter Ratcliff. He was married Sept 29, 1912 to Edith Thomas at the bride's home in Parke County. Mr. and Mrs. Ratcliff lived in Parke County until 1937 when they moved to their present home. They are members of the Portland Arch Christian Church. Survivors include the widow, Edith ; five daughters, Mrs. Julia Rice of Paoli, PA; Mrs. Rosinda Coon of Rt 1, Wingate; Mrs. Mary Jean Pickett of San Anselmo, Calif; Mrs. Ester Fine of Rt 4, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Lillian Coon of Cloverdale; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Brothers of Greencastle. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son and five brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev David Kinnick, pastor of the Portland Arch Christian Church in charge. Burial will be in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Hollandsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
