Covington - Everett L. Ratcliff, 87, who served two terms with the Covington City council died Monday at his residence here after a long illness. He had been a member of Wallace Maosnic Lodge 495 since 1914 and became past master in 1929 and recieved a 50-year pin in 1964. He was a 50-year member of Wallace OES. He also was a member of Wallace Low 12 Club, Cabalistic Club and Salem United Methodist Church. Mr. Ratcliff also served as a Foutain County Deputy Sheriff. Born July 25, 1889 at Grange Corner, in Parke County he was the son of Jacob and Gertrude Ward Ratcliff. His first marriage was to Bertha Shoaf in 1914. Sh died in 1950. He was next married to Clara Dewlin in 1952. She survives. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Ola Duncan of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Minnie Miller of Frankfort; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in DeVerter Funral Home here with Rev. Wayne Hoover officiating. Burial in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. Masonic services will be 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. - kbz
