WAYNETOWN — Mrs. Essie E. Ratcliff, 55, of Rt. 2, Crawfordsville, died at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at Culver Hospital there. She had been ill six weeks. She was born April 15, 1909, at Campbellsville, Ky., to James and Rosie Patterson Hunt. She married Raymond Ratcliff in 1925 in Fountain County. Mrs. Ratcliff was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church at Campbellsville. She attended Knops School there. She lived in Fountain and Montgomery counties her entire married life. She is survived by her husband; a son, Bobbie Ratcliff of Rt. 2, Crawfordsville; two brothers, Roy Hunt of New Palestine and James Hunt of Rt. 1, Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Cordrey of Chicago and Mrs. Thelma Short of Greenfield; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, her parents, three brothers and a sister. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Servies Funeral Home here. Rev. Guy E. Tremaine will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. --typed by Walt W
