Ratcliff - Alice Pavey

Mrs. Alice Ratcliff, a native of Fountain County, but a well known resident of Crawfordsville for several years, died suddenly at her home Thursday morning at 3:15 o'clock, following a heart attack. Mrs. Ratcliff was born on April 3, 1867 at Kingman, the daughter of David & Mary Stephenson Pavey, and on December 24, 1884, she was married to Sylvester Ratcliff. She was an active member and worker of the first Christian Church of Crawfordsville. She is survived by two children, Mrs. Ruby Denison, Crawfordsville and Joseph W. Ratcliff, of New Richmond; four grandchildren, and one brother, Benjamin Pavey of Crawfordsville. Her husband, one son and two daughters preceded her in death. Mrs. Ratcliff's late husabnd was a brother of Judge O.B. Ratcliff of Covington and Dr. A.L. Ratcliff of Kingman. The funeral was held from the Crawfordsville 1st Christian Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the pastor, Rev. Paul Million. Burial was made in the Harveysburg cemetery near Kingman. -- kbz
