Arcadia, June 23 – Funeral services
for Harvey Raquet 63 former Indianapolis school teacher and Arcadia native who
died Wednesday evening are planned at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. They will be at the
Conkle Funeral Home, 1934 W. Michigan Street, Indianapolis. Burial will be in
Floral Park Cemetery. For 22 years, Raquet taught science in Washington HS,
Indianapolis resigning two years ago because of ill health. His first school
was at Millersburg and he taught in Hamilton County a few years before going to
the state capital. Raquet died in an Indianapolis Nursing home where he had
been for some time. Prior to that, he had been hospitalized. Born Nov 20, 1886
he was the son of John and Elizabeth (Eshelman) Raquet. In 1907, he married
Cintilla Goff of Parkersburg. She died Jan 30, 1949 and two of their three
children are deceased. Raquet was graduated from Jackson Central HS and had
been an active member of the Speedway Christian Church when he was in good
health. Survivors are one son, Lodell Raquet of Indianapolis, two brothers,
Berne of Arcadia and Kenneth of Sheridan and two children.
