Donald E. Rankin, 72, Crawfordsville, died 9:40 p.m. Monday in St. Clare Medical Center. Mr. Rankin was employed as an accountant at Rankin & Moore. his memberships included American Legion, 40 & 8, Moose, Elks, Eagles, Masons and Shriners. He served in the Air Force from 1954-56. He was a 1949 Crawfordsville High School graduate and a 1954 graduate of Indiana University. He was born June 26, 1931, at Crawfordsville, to Ben B. and Stella Thompson Rankin. He married Nancy Dunbar in 1965 and later married Dorothy Tynan. She died in March 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Marianne Rankin, Crawfordsville; two stepdaughters, Connie Burton, Pittsboro, and Nancy Carey, Indianapolis; a stepson, Mark Tynan, Indianapolis; a brother, James L., Crawfordsville; and two stepgrandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Velma Keesling officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to services Friday in the funeral home. kbz
