Mitchel H. Rancourt, 54, of 30 Wellington Blvd., Lake Holiday, died Friday morning in Culver Hospital. Mr. Rancourt was a retired 23-year employee of the Penn Central Railroad. Mr. Rancourt was a member of the Catholic Church and Darlington American Legion Post. He served with the U.S. Marines in World War II. He was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Providence, R.I., a son of Ovide and Eva Rancourt. He was married April 21, 1944, at Majove, Calif., to Louise Doty, who survives. Also surviving are his mother of Providence; two sons, Richard Allen and Mark William, both of Indianapolis; four brothers, John, Albert and Edmond, all of Providence, and Eugene of Springfield, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Antoinette Cimino, Mrs. Eva d’Agostino, Mrs. Jeanette McArthur and Mrs. Teresa Secor, all of Providence; and four grand- children. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Burkhart Funeral Home at Crawfordsville with Father David Clifford officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday. – jlr
