WAYNETOWN -- Walter Raisor, 87, of Waynetown, died at 1:30 a.m. today (Feb. 13, 1974) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. Born Sept. 3, 1886, near Elmdale, he was the son of James and Shirley Sechrest Raisor. He married Katie Ferguson, who died in 1951. Then in 1954 he married Margie Schlosser, who survives. He was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and a 50-year member of the Waynetown Masonic Lodge. He was a 50-year gold card member of Brick Layers Union 11 of Lafayette. He was a former semi-pro and minor league baseball player, playing for the Charleston team in the old Three-I League. Other survivors include a son, Ernest of Waynetown; four sisters, Mrs. Beulah Hill and Mrs. Roberta Sutton, both of Anderson, Mrs. Clemmie Weliver of Indianapolis and Mrs. Alice Weaver of Crawfordsville; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter in infancy and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Harman. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stephen Malone and the Rev. Jack Swank officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.--waw
