Joseph RAGSDALE, son of John and Sarah Ragsdale passed away at Rockville, Indiana Tuesday morning Oct 31, 1939, aged 80 years 3 months 27 days. He was born April 7, 1859 near Russellville. He was one of a family of four all have preceded him in death except one brother, John. He and his brother john were lifetime partners in farming. For many years they specialized in raising fine horses. The two brothers made a home for their mother during her lifetime. The most notable characteristic of Joseph Ragsdale was perfect control of his disposition. He NEVER made a display of temper. He was a member of the Original Presbyterian Church in Russellville. The only survivors of his immediate family are his brother, John, 3 nephews, Joe, John and Frank Shanks and one niece, Mrs. HH Smith. Burial in Old union with Rev JO Carder of Waveland ME Church in charge of services at the grave. - kbz
