RAGSDALE, Herschel G. - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Herschel G. RAGSDALE, 32, of this place, a veteran of WWII, an employee of Wabash Division, Raybestos, died at the company plant here Friday morning after suffering coronary occlusion. A native of Shoals, Mr. Ragsdale had resided in Waveland since Nov 1954, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hershel Ragsdale. He had been employed by Raybestos the past 4 months. Mr. Ragsdale served with the Marines on Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima during WWII. He was in service with the Marines six years. Survivors include the widow, the former Ilene Smith of Waveland; a son, Stephen, 8 years and a daughter, Sandra Kay, 10 years; born of a previous marriage; the father, s stepmother, Mrs. Lorane Ragsdale, of Indianapolis; a brother, Armanda Ragsdale and a sister, Mrs. Hugh Maoy of Indianpolis. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Speedway City.
