Joplin, Mo. Herald: At about three o’clock yesterday afternoon, Charlie Robb (Rabb), the janitor of the Collins Block, staggered into the rear door of H. Phelps’ grocery and fell dead on the floor. His body was conveyed to W. R. Fletcher’s undertaking rooms where an inquest was held last night, the verdict of the jury being that the cause of the death was heart failure induced by the excessive use of cigarettes. The deceased was a son of John B. Robb, of this city. He was about twenty four years of age and leaves a wife and one child. Charlie was naturally a bright fellow with a kind and obliging disposition, but the excessive use of cigarettes played havoc with him mentally and morally, and although he took the Keely cure for both habits, the treatment did no permanent good. The funeral will take place from Fletcher’s undertaking parlor at 2 p.m. today and the interment will be at Fairview.
